Cold emails get ignored. Warm introductions get replies. The problem is that most of us run out of warm contacts long before we run out of people we need to meet.
Boardy is an AI “superconnector” built to fix that gap. You tell it who you want to meet, it matches you against people it has already spoken with, and it sends a warm introduction once both sides agree. Here is how it works, how to get your first intro, what it costs, and where I would stay cautious.
Boardy at a Glance
Boardy is a conversational AI that makes introductions to investors, customers, talent, founders, and creators. It started as a phone-call product and now works across messaging apps, email, and meetings. The core service is free, and a paid tier called Boardy Pro handles scheduling and follow-up.
- Advantage: It does the matching and the awkward ask for you, and nothing goes out until you approve it.
- Limitation: The best results go to people with a clear, specific request. Vague asks get vague matches.
- Ideal users: Founders, solo operators, consultants, recruiters, and creators who need new people fast and do not have a big network yet.
- Use case: Finding early customers, investors for a specific stage or sector, advisors, or a senior hire.
- Use case: Booking and following up on the resulting calls, which is where Boardy Pro comes in.
How Boardy Actually Works
Boardy’s own page breaks the process into three steps: understand, match, connect.
First, you describe the outcome you want. The site says it asks follow-up questions when your request needs more context. Second, it matches that request against what people have told it in earlier conversations, then checks that the intro makes sense for both of you. Third, once both people opt in, it sends the warm introduction and coordinates calendars.
That double opt-in step matters. The other person has already said yes before your name lands in their inbox, which is why these intros tend to feel different from a cold message.
On scale, Boardy reports more than 240,000 introductions made, over 250,000 people spoken with, and an average time to match of 17 hours. Those figures come from Boardy’s own homepage, so treat them as the company’s claims rather than audited numbers. The company is led by Andrew D’Souza, former Clearco CEO, and raised an $8M seed round in January 2025 led by Creandum, after a $3M pre-seed in late 2024.
How to Get Your First Intro (Step by Step)
- Go to boardy.ai and tap Message Me. The site lists WhatsApp, text, LinkedIn, X, and Gmail as channels, so use the one you already check daily. You can also have ChatGPT or Claude start the conversation for you from the same page.
- Say what you are building in one or two sentences. Boardy needs context before it can match anyone.
- State the outcome, not the category. “I need three paying pilot customers in logistics” beats “I want to meet people in logistics.”
- Add why now. A deadline, a funding round, or a product launch helps Boardy prioritize you.
- Answer its follow-up questions properly. This is the part most people rush. Short, vague answers lead to weak matches.
- Read every draft before you approve it. The site says it writes one email from what it already knows about you and that nothing sends until you approve. Fix anything inaccurate.
- Show up prepared and follow up within 24 hours. The intro only opens the door. If you want Boardy to handle scheduling and follow-up, that is what Pro is for.
Three requests you can copy and adapt:
- “I run a 4-person SaaS startup for dental clinics. I want to meet two operations managers at multi-location clinics who would test it this quarter.”
- “I am raising a pre-seed round for a climate data tool. I want investors who have backed B2B data products before.”
- “I need a founding engineer with experience in voice AI, ideally someone who has worked in a startup under 20 people.”
Pricing
The core product is free. One third-party guide reports unlimited conversations with introductions capped at three per day, so check the current limit when you sign up. Boardy Pro launched on June 15, 2026 at $100 a month, after the launch offers of free access for life and one free year both filled up. The homepage does not show a Pro price, so confirm it with Boardy before you commit.
The Honest Limitations
- The numbers and testimonials are self-reported. The homepage quotes happy users, which is expected. Independent reviews are still thin.
- You are sharing real context with an AI. Tell it only what you would be comfortable telling a stranger at a conference, and review what it sends on your behalf.
- Match quality depends on who is in the network. If your niche is narrow or your region is underrepresented, results may be slower or weaker.
- Pro is a real monthly cost. At $100 a month, it only makes sense if you take enough meetings to justify the scheduling and follow-up help.
Alternative Tools
- Dex: A personal CRM that keeps track of the people you already know, with reminders and AI help. Better for nurturing your existing network than for meeting new people.
- folk: A lightweight CRM for small teams that manage relationships and partnerships together. Useful once you have intros to track.
- Apollo: A prospecting and outreach platform for finding contacts and running campaigns. It gives you volume and control, but the outreach is cold rather than warm.
The difference in one line: Dex and folk help you manage people you know, Apollo helps you reach people you do not, and Boardy tries to get you warm introductions to people you have not met.
The Bottom Line
Boardy is worth trying if you have a specific goal and a short deadline. The free tier costs you a few minutes, and the double opt-in model keeps the intros respectful for both sides. Go in with a sharp request, check every draft, and treat the headline stats as marketing until more independent reviews appear.
Try this today: write your request as “I want to meet [specific person] so that [specific result] by [date],” send it to Boardy, and see how close the match gets.
